The Indonesian Police collaborated with the Korean National Police Agency in the form of capacity building with the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) and the Korean National Police University (KNPU). This collaboration is carried out as a strategy to increase knowledge and improve the services, skills and professionalism of National Police personnel in carrying out their duties in the fields of cyber forensics, cybercrime and cybersecurity.
Even a KNPU professor, Professor Kim Gi Bum, also participated in a comparative study with the Indonesian Police and ITB, as one of the best universities in West Java.
The collaboration will run from 2019 to 2021, with seven training and education projects. The first project started in August 2019 and began with the Master Dual Degree Program Computer Science, which involved 20 National Police personnel who would study at ITB and South Korea.
The next training is the High Level of Invitation Training Program, Middle Level Official Invitational Training Program, Training of Trainers, Practitioner Training Program, SSTC Seminar and Cybercrime Investigation Workshop.
All related parties hope that this collaboration will run smoothly and become a solution in facing cyber security challenges.
